Take a trek through the Wild Wild West! ~Review for "Vengeance Road" by Erin Bowman

I give this one 4.5/5 bars of gold.

Thank you to UpperCase Box for sending this one out in your September 2015 case!

Kate Thompson's life has changed in the blink of an eye. Her father has been hung and her home burned without a clue as to why. Kate's only thing that she knows is that the outlaws who did this to her must pay for what they've done! Knowing only where the tracks that the outlaws horses left and that if anything bad happened to her Pa she was to go to a guy named Abe from Wickenburg, Kate sets out on a quest for vengeance. Along the way she meets a cast of interesting characters, one that Kate just can't keep away from, and she learns a load of history about her family and why the outlaws where after her family to begin with.

This story was one heck of an adventure! The good ol' wild, wild, west with it's gold mining, outlaws, cowboys, and guns. This one will pull you in and make you hold on tight til the very end. Throw in the plot twist towards the end and wow! Erin Bowman has written an entertaining and historically involved story to keep you talking about for quite some time!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Synopsis~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Revenge is worth its weight in gold. When her father is murdered for a journal revealing the location of a hidden gold mine, eighteen-year-old Kate Thompson disguises herself as a boy and takes to the gritty plains looking for answers—and justice. What she finds are untrustworthy strangers, endless dust and heat, and a surprising band of allies, among them a young Apache girl and a pair of stubborn brothers who refuse to quit riding in her shadow. But as Kate gets closer to the secrets about her family, a startling truth becomes clear: some men will stop at nothing to get their hands on gold, and Kate’s quest for revenge may prove fatal.
